Spring Gardens Installed In May

Spring garden installation time has come! We’ve been busy installing the gardens that were designed over the past few months, now that our last frost has passed. Here are a few of the gardens we’ve designed and installed this Spring.

This Formal Potager Garden, custom designed and built from solid cedar, allowed this homeowner to create a focal point in their yard that is both productive and beautiful. These beds are 24 inches deep and built to allow for productive growth with minimal care. This garden included irrigation and all plants, along with the stepping stones and pavers.

This garden has a gravel base with stepping stones and full irrigation. It includes two arches to support the vining crops, and a variety of plants. The things you can’t see are the wire mesh base (to keep the moles and voles from burrowing up into the garden bed) and the weed-suppressing barrier cloth under the stone. This garden provides 64 square feet of planting space allowing for some of the larger plants to grow.

This garden turns an unused corner of a patio into a focal point. The site is a bit shady, so the plants were carefully selected to grow in limited light. The 24 inch depth allows for tending without bending and the full irrigation with a timer allows the owner to enjoy traveling without worrying about the garden drying out.
